Huawei Achieves 2015 Excellence in Information Security Testing (EIST) AwardSAN FRANCISCO, May 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Huawei recently achieved a 10-Year 2015 Excellence in Information Security Testing (EIST) Award by the internationally-recognized independent testing institution ICSA Labs. The award recognizes Huawei's ongoing commitment to the quality assurance process of Huawei's security products and its firm determination to continuously improve its products. As one of the industry's most authoritative certification authorities, ICSA Labs has more than twenty years of experience in security testing and certification, resulting in the accumulation of rich product security knowledge. As one of the year's EIST award winners announced at the RSA Conference 2015, Huawei has successfully passed ICSA Labs' rigorous testing for its network firewall and network intrusion prevention system (IPS) solutions. For information security vendors such as Huawei having certifications issued by ICSA Labs demonstrates that they have passed the ISO-accredited testing process. The testing completed by ICSA Labs is continuous and also serves as an important verification step during the product development lifecycle. "ICSA Labs' Excellence in Information Security Testing (EIST) Awards recognizes Huawei's dedication to the quality improvement process," said George Japak, managing director, ICSA Labs. "It takes significant budget, resources and discipline to not only test and achieve information security certification but also to maintain certification going forward. The goal is to esablish an improved security product that benefits both customers and the security ecosystem." The Excellence in Information Security Testing Awards recognize clients that have continually tested their products for 10, 15 or 20 years and maintained their information security certification with ICSA Labs. ICSA Labs' clients benefit by working closely with analysts, leveraging criteria for product development, accessing research and participating in consortia, all with the objective of contributing to improved products that benefit customers and the security ecosystem. Jiao Chengwei, Director of Security Gateway Domain, Switches and Enterprise Communication Product Line, Huawei, said, "A total of 62 Huawei products obtained the firewall certifications from ISCA, with 39 Huawei products passing IPS authentication over the past decade. We're honored to receive this award in recognition of our product security assurance capabilities. The rigorous ICSA tests act as motivation for Huawei to devote itself to providing better security products for customers across the globe." Huawei became China's first IPS-certified security vendor by passing the ICSA IPS test in March 2015, with Huawei's entire next-generation firewall (NGFW) series receiving the ICSA firewall certification.
