HP Simplifies and Improves IT Management with Adoption of IT4IT Open Standard

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 21 October 2014 Release date- 20102014 - PALO ALTO, Calif. - HP today announced the adoption of the IT4IT open standard for its IT Management software portfolio, to help customers reduce complexity and speed integration and delivery of business services and applications.

The modern enterprise must contend with a constantly expanding portfolio of IT applications, systems, and services. Businesses struggle to manage these complex systems in a cohesive manner, and lack the ability to ensure consistent quality and performance across their IT infrastructure.

The IT4IT open standard provides vendors, service providers, and businesses with a common blueprint to guide all products and solutions for interoperability, compliance and business insight. HP and other leading players in the IT management market are attending the Open Group Summit in London today to share insights, best practices, and use cases for applying the IT4IT standard.

As part of today's news, HP also unveiled the HP Reference Architecture, which is based on the IT4IT open standard. The HP Reference Architecture ensures the compliance of HP Software products to IT4IT, and is designed to help customers lower costs, achieve greater automation, and gain business insight and transparency into their IT operations.

Today, the following HP Software products and services are already aligned with the IT4IT standard: HP Propel - A front door for all IT services providing users a unified, consumer-oriented services shopping experience. HP Propel's open architecture aggregates current systems and rapidly on-boards new services and suppliers.

HP Enterprise Maps - An enterprise architecture solution that helps identify waste and redundancies to successfully drive IT transformation.

HP IT Management Transformation Workshop - Developed from the ground up on IT4IT principles, the workshop offers consulting, custom development and integration services to bring IT services up to date with modern architectures and platforms.

HP IT Management Value Discovery Workshop - Provides strategic guidance to HP customers on how to assess, rationalize, position and recommend next steps for their IT infrastructure portfolio.

HP also develops and implements reference use cases for customer and partners around IT4IT principles, such as the HP Detect to Correct Value Stream focused on reducing the occurrence and cost of IT issues and events. These are ready to use, efficient processes that can be implemented over many industry tools and solutions.

'The Open Group's initiative to drive IT4IT towards an accepted industry standard is an important move to simplify and improve IT operations overall,' saidAjay Singh, senior vice president and general manager, IT Operations Management, HP Software. 'HP believes in interoperability and open standards for IT, and we are proud to be the first adopter of IT4IT standard in our own product portfolio.' Pricing and Availability HP products and services aligned to IT4IT with the HP Reference Architecture are available in a variety of pricing and licensing models worldwide.

HP Reference Architecture is available to HP customers for download on the HP Support and HP Live Network sites.
