HP announces the Sprout PC that will redefine the creativity in you [T-break Tech (Middle East)]

(T-break Tech (Middle East) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) HP's latest all-in-one Windows PC called the Sprout isn't just your daily PC. It also comes with a secondary multi-touch panel in place of the keyboard and mouse, a projector that lights up a secondary display atop the touch panel itself, along with a trio of 3D scanners. The audience is definitely the creative group of people such as artists, photographers and all sorts of designers, but HP wants the normal consumers to use it as well.

Users can use the secondary touchpad to flick through pictures, or pinch and zoom through webpages or images. One can place any item on the pad, get scanned by the 3D scanners and create an almost exact digital replica in the PC which can get resized or even rotate it by using the pad itself. You can even scan printed books, crop the text and add modifications and graphics for your projects, all by the touchpad, not by any mouse or keyboard. Sounds promising. Onscreen keyboards will be visible on the pad by the projector, thanks to the Windows 8.1 touch interaction.

Naturally, HP uses its own set of apps for all these features. Moving on, the main screen is a 23-inch 1080p display and the touchpad are at 20-inches in size, along with the projector called the HP Illuminator firing a 1024 x 768 resolution display atop the pad. The 3D scanners depend on Intel's Real Sense technology and use a trio of depth-sensing 14MP cameras to snap the same object, and generate a 3D image.

HP has made sure the Sprout packs top-notch hardware. The processor is Intel's i7-4790S, along with 8GB DDR3 RAM and NVIDIA's GT745A GPU with 2GB GDDR3 RAM. The storage included is a 1TB solid state hybrid with 8GB solid state cache. Other features include MIMO WiFi, USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports, a 3-in-1 card reader, DTS Surround tech, an LED desk lamp and a keyboard/optical mouse included too. If this new breed has won your heart, the HP Sprout will start at a hefty price of $1899 (6975 AED), but no word about Middle Eastern availability yet.
