Hooper, Lundy & Bookman Expands Its Washington, D.C. Health Law Practice: Health Care M&A Expert William Eck Joins Firm

WASHINGTON --(Business Wire)--

The national law firm of Hooper, Lundy & Bookman, PC, is pleased to announce that William B. Eck has joined the firm as a partner in the firm's Washington, D.C. Office.

Most recently a principal shareholder in Greenberg Taurig's Washington, D.C. Health and FDA Business Group, Mr. Eck brings with him more than 30 years of experience in health law, representing hospitals, health systems and other providers, public companies and private equity firms.

"We are pleased to add Bill to Hooper, Lundy & Bookman's growing national practice," said managing partner Robert Lundy. "As a health care attorney with extensive experience handling both health care mergers and acquisitions and provider regulatory issues on the East Coast, Bill fortifies the strength of our Washington, D.C. office to continue to provide a full complement of legal services to our health care provider clients.

Mr. Eck's practice is focused on regulatory and transactional matters. On the transactional side of his practice, Mr. Eck has represented buyers or sellers in more than 25 hospital sale transactions. He also represents clients in jointventures with non-hospital providers and major financing transactions, including tax exempt bond financing, bank financing, HUD financing and New Markets Tax Credit financing.

On the regulatory side of his practice, he represents clients in Medicare payment matters and disputes, including administrative law litigation. He is one of the few attorneys in the country to have successfully represented clients working through both corporate integrity agreements and a deferred prosecution agreement, which required a considerable compliance program and organizational change. He also represents clients in FDA matters, including approvals, labeling and clinical research.

"Bill's breadth and depth of experience, as well as his national client focus, is an important addition to our growing Washington, D.C.-based practice," said Washington, D.C. Office Managing Partner Robert Roth.

Mr. Eck is a graduate of Harvard Law School, and he received his B.A. from Loyola University of Chicago, where he was Valedictorian.

He is admitted to the bar in the District of Columbia and Florida and is Board Certified in Health Law by the Florida Bar.

He may be reached at 202.580.7715 or [email protected]
