Honey originating in India alone can be exported to US: DGFT

New Delhi, Dec 01, 2008 (Asia Pulse Data Source via COMTEX) --
The government tonight said that honey obtained from sources in India only can be exported to the US.

Honey that is "wholly obtained" in India only could be exported to the US, Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) said in a notification.

Besides, "no blending of Indian honey shall be permitted with honey originating from any other country" for exports to the US, it said.

In another development, the government banned import of chocolates, chocolate products, candies, confectionery and food preparations with milk or milk solids from China.

The ban on import of milk and milk products from the neighbouring country has also been extended till June 23, 2009.
