HLAA Arizona Walk4Hearing and You: Coming Together to End the Stigma of Hearing Loss

The Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) invites you to Riverview Park on November 12, 2016 for the Arizona Walk4Hearing, a family-friendly event that raises awareness about hearing loss and issues a call to action to eradicate the stigma associated with hearing loss and encourage people to advocate for communication access. The Walk will welcome more than 400 walkers who will step up for the 48 million Americans with hearing loss in the United States.

The fundraising goal for the 2016 Walk4Hearing program is $1.4 million, which supports programs and services for people with hearing loss and their families. Money raised is shared between the national organization and local Walks through HLAA's Alliance program. At the national level, money raised goes to support advocacy to affect legislation that impacts people with hearing loss, such as Medicare to allow hearing aid coverage. At the local level, money raised goes toward college scholarships, providing captioning and hearing assistive technologies in meetings, and funding for hearing aids.

HLAA would like to thank the following 2016 Walk4Hearing National Sponsors for their support of this year's Walks:

Premier Sponsor - CapTel Captioned Telephone

Platinum Sponsor - MED-EL
Diamond Sponsor - ClearCaptions
Silver Sponsors - Advanced Bionics, Cochlear Americas, Hamilton CapTel, hi HealthInnovations, IntriCon, Regal Entertainment Group

We also want to thank our local Arizona Walk4Hearing sponsors:

Platinum - Good Sound Audiology
Silver Sponsor - Sprint / Arizona Relay Service

Since its inception in 2006, the Walk4Hearing has raised more than $11 million and has welcomed more than 70,000 walkers, making it the nation's largest and fastest-growing hearing loss fundraising and public awareness walk in the country.
