HerdStar Releases BinTrac(TM) VMI at World Pork Expo

LE ROY, Minn. --(Business Wire)-- Expedited feed orders are now a thing of the past. HerdStar's BinTrac VMI provides timely and highly accurate feed bin levels as well as predicting feed disappearance rates to avoid expedited delivery fees as well as a feed outage. HerdStar will demonstrate BinTrac VMI live at the World Pork Expo in Des Moines, Iowa June 7-9th at their booth, number 666, of the Varied Industries Building.

Mark Jaeger, HerdStar's Design Engineer, will explain how patent pending BinTrac "Pro" sensors deliver the most cost effective and accurate bin weights in the industry. BinTrac VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) allows feed mills the ability to manage their customers' feed inventories remotely; schedule timely fills while efficiently managing mill operations and delivery logistics. Tom Baarsch will demonstrate the patented VMI web based software that remotely monitors hourly feed usage, computes reorder points, produces feed orders and confirms feed deliveries. He will also demonstrate how one may spot feed bridging, auger timeouts and equipment malfunctions in the feed delivery system within the barn.

BinTrac VMI automatically generates reorder points for feed bins up to a week in advance. BinTrac VMI can verify what bins were filled and when, adding an important layer of traceability to our food animal industry. BinTrac VMI displays bin inventory onsite as well as remotely, which also eliminates the need for stockmen to climb bins to estimate feed inventories. BinTrac VMI's highly accurate feed bin sensors eliminate the "estimating" with regular visual inspections by putting an easy-to-read LED feed level monitor on each bin in addition to an "actual" digital weight readout. This information can be linked to the feed mill or any other location via the Internet by adding the VMI solution. As there is no longer a need to climb bins, work related injuries from falling can be prevented.

With over three years in development, the new BinTrac VMI is now ready to address the critical needs of the Poultry and Swine industry. It will not only improve feed mill logistics and efficiency, but also monitor and manage feed out events caused by feed bridging and empty bins. HerdStar entered into an exclusive license agreement with Unisone Corporation for its U.S. patent No. 6,996,538, which covers the supply chain management software sector and systems relating to Livestock advanced inventory management. This license also leverages business processes using RFID technology to track inventory. By utilizing this IP, HerdStar will license BinTrac VMI as well as other products for use by agricultural suppliers, distributors, and resellers that provide real-time inventory management information via the Internet.

"The license agreement with HerdStar is another example of the signature opportunity to apply the Unisone intellectual property to today's real problems," said Bernard Puckett, advisor to the chairman of Unisone, Senior Vice President of IBM and founder of the IBM Consulting Group.

BinTrac VMI will also be accessible through a mobile application available in June 2007.
