Mrs. Vassell will oversee the 68,000 square feet Fern Tree Spa and its team of wellness professionals as well as the Fern Tree Fitness Centre, Fern Tree Tennis, Fern Tree Spinning and Fern Tree Yoga. A graduate of the University of the West Indies where she studied Family Life Management, Tanya learned the beneficial effects of pressure point massage from her grandfather before going on to study and become certified in massage therapy and reflexology, aesthetics, Japanese shiatsu, Equine massage and infant massage at the Florida Institute. Joining the renowned Sandals Group, Tanya held a number of senior roles including Spa Manager at the exclusive Royal Plantation Hotel in Ocho Rios, Regional Manager Red Lane Spa, Group Red Lane Spa Manager and Spa Manager at Beaches Negril and Grand Pineapple Resort in Negril.
