GreenBytes names new CEO

Dec 11, 2012 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- GreenBytes, Inc., a developer of cloud-scale IO-offload solutions, has named Steve O'Donnell as its new CEO.

O'Donnell, who will continue to serve as Chairman of the GreenBytes Board of Directors, will lead the executive management team and drive strategic business efforts that will enable the company to shape the desktop virtualization market with its IO Offload Engine, a high-performance network infrastructure device purpose-built to absorb the transient IO (input/output) required for VM (virtual machine) booting, rapid provisioning and swap to provide an excellent virtual desktop user experience at an affordable cost.

Before joining GreenBytes, O'Donnell was CEO at MEEZA in Qatar, a large data center and managed services business, Managing Director at Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG) EMEA, an analyst firm, Global Head of Data Centre Operations at British Telecom, and member of the Advisory Board at Fusion-io. He acts as a spokesperson for the IEEE on Cloud and IT Security.

"Steve is more than a great executive; he is also a great person," said Bob Petrocelli, Founder and CTO, GreenBytes. "Having him step into the CEO role was a happy decision for all of us. Steve has been a tremendous asset to our team since joining GreenBytes as Chairman earlier this year, and we are excited for what the future holds for the company under his guidance and leadership." http://www.datamonitor.com Republication or redistribution, including by framing or similar means, is expressly prohibited without prior written consent.
