Great Wall Motors, China Unicom sign strategic agreement

SHIJIAZHUANG, Apr 12, 2012 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- Great Wall Motors and C hina Unicom (CHU.NYSE; 00762.HK; 600050.SH) have signed a strategic co operation agreement in Baoding city, north China's Hebei province.

According to the agreement, China Unicom will be the excl usive telecommunications operator partner of Great Wall Motors in the automobile information service sector.

Great Wall Motors has been engaged in applying fresh tech nologies in its products to satisfy customers' various demands, and ha s made some accomplishments by using the information technologies, suc h as automotive navigation, security, and reversing camera.

By linking up with China Unicom, the two sides will deepe n the cooperation in the telecommunications network, establish automob ile information service platform, share information resources and serv ice systems, enhance basic information services and boost the progress of automobile informatization.

Besides, Great Wall Motors will promote the application o f information and communication technologies, such as WCDMA, in the au tomobile information service sector to offer better user experience an d services.
