Governor Haslam Proclaims Jan. 21-27 "Tennessee School Choice Week"; Joins Leaders Nationwide in Celebrating Opportunity in EducationThanks to an official proclamation from Gov. Haslam, Jan. 21-27 will be School Choice Week in Tennessee. Dozens of other governors and hundreds of city and county leaders nationwide have issued similar proclamations. In Tennessee, 640 School Choice Week events and activities have been planned independently, with a goal of raising awareness of and sparking conversations about the educational options parents have, or want to have, for their children. More than 32,000 School Choice Week gatherings will take place nationwide - including rallies, roundtable discussions, receptions, coffeehouse meet-ups, movie screenings, festivals, school fairs, and more.
