Governor Ducey Proclaims Jan. 21-27 "Arizona School Choice Week"; Joins Leaders Nationwide in Celebrating Opportunity in Education

Jan. 21-27, 2018 will officially be Arizona School Choice Week, thanks to a proclamation from Gov. Doug Ducey. He joins dozens of other governors and hundreds of city and county leaders nationwide in issuing proclamations for National School Choice Week.

More than 1,000 events across the state of Arizona will celebrate the many educational options available to students across the Grand Canyon State. The 32,000+ events nationwide, including rallies, roundtable discussions, coffeehouse meetups, festivals, and school fairs, will inspire conversations about educational options that parents have, or want to have, for their children.

"Arizona is one of the most advanced states in the country when it comes to educational choice, and Arizonans have a lot to celebrate during National School Choice Week," said Andrew Campanella, president of National School Choice Week. "It has been exciting to see the enthuiasm for choice grow. And it's not surprising - parents everywhere, including Arizona, want choices for their children's education. We're thrilled to help celebrate those choices."

Held every January, National School Choice Week is an independent, nonpartisan, nonpolitical public awareness effort designed to shine a positive spotlight on effective education options for every child. Through thousands of independently planned events across the country, National School Choice Week raises public awareness of all types of educational choices available to children. These options include traditional public schools, public charter schools, public magnet schools, online learning, private schools, and homeschooling.
