Goldman Sachs CEO Blankfein Receives $9.8 Million in Compensation for 2009 (GS)

3/20/2010-Bloomberg reported Saturday that Goldman Sachs Group (NYSE:GS) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Lloyd Blankfein received $9.8 million in total compensation for 2009, according to a regulatory filing.
Blankfein's pay included a $600,000 salary, $9 million in restricted stock awards, and about $262,000 in other compensation funds.
Blankfein also made $18.7 million from his participation in investment funds the firm offers to clients, a practice the firm allows some executives to engage in so they can benefit from merchant banking, venture capital and "similar activities," according to the filing.
