Globecomm Unveils Low-Cost LTE Hosted Network Solutions at CTIA Wireless 2012
HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. --(Business Wire)--
Globecomm
Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: GCOM), a leading global provider of
communications solutions and services, announced today that it will
launch a time and cost-saving 4G solution for carriers at CTIA 2012. The
company will host a live end-to-end demonstration of the solution at the
Globecomm Booth (#2860).
The 4G hosted switching solution significantly reduces the requisite
time, money and manpower to initiate or convert to a 4G business,
enabling operators to more easily create LTE (News - Alert) networks and deploy Voice
over LTE and other IMS related services.
Globecomm's hosted 4G solution provides a unique, affordable converged
packet gateway solution that resides in the operator's home market and
breaks out IP traffic to the local Internet Service Provider (ISP) of
their choice, which is often the operator itself.
This solution allows carriers to limit the use of expensive transport to
the core network and maximize profitability of the service, without
compromising network security, control, visibility or reliability.
Globecomm can also help even the smallest operator launch advanced LTE
services by providing network and RF planning, UE user devices, eNodeB
radio gear, backhaul solutions, converged packet gateway, LTE core, NOC (News - Alert)
and network management tools, as well as the expertise to break out
Internet traffic, deep packet inspection technology, billing, security,
and regulatory compliance and systems support. Globecomm's
cost-effective solution gives carriers more options to develop flexible
network and product offers and gain greater control over their own 4G
wireless futures.
Globecomm is a full-service GSM/ CDMA/UMTS/LTE mobile technology and
wireless technology rovider, offering 2G/3G/4G services and products -
including voice, high speed Internet, SMS, MMS, voicemail, prepaid and
post-paid billing - and a forward path to the next generation. The
Company specializes in solving the operational and business problems of
serving low-density and remote areas, deploying advanced services on
legacy cellular networks, restoring service and providing secured
communications on short notice.
Andrew Silberstein, Senior Vice President and General Manager of
Globecomm Services, said: "LTE network technology is rapidly advancing
to meet exploding data demand and introduce new data applications, yet
smaller operators are often stuck upfront making risky investment
decisions with specific vendors and face years of expensive upgrades and
support costs. The capabilities made possible by our hosted switching
solution solve cost and risk problems and open new markets for our
customers while helping them rapidly expand their networks and drive new
revenue generating services to their customers."
