Globe University and Northwest Technical Institute (NTI) Team Up to Expand In-Demand Drafting and Design Programs

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) MINNEAPOLIS, Minn (PRWEB) February 14, 2012 Globe University and Minnesota School of Business (MSB) have teamed up with Eagan, Minn.-based Northwest Technical Institute (NTI), a technical school specializing in engineering and architectural design and drafting programs that boast nearly 100 percent job placement and 85–90 percent student completion rates.

With the addition of NTI’s programs at Globe and MSB, students can earn Associate in Applied Science degrees in Engineering Drafting and Design, and Architectural Drafting and Design.

The university’s Woodbury, Minn. campus will be the first to offer the NTI programs beginning April 2012. In July 2012 students can also enroll in the programs at MSB’s campuses in Plymouth and Blaine, Minn. More campuses, including several in Wisconsin, will begin offering the programs later in the year.

NTI will phase out its Eagan facility over the next 18 months. NTI has trained thousands of students over several decades and has been a long-respected member of the Minnesota technical college landscape. Like Globe and MSB, NTI is also locally-owned and family-managed with a mission of helping students achieve success. “The many similarities between our two colleges helped convince us that this partnership was the right thing to do for our students,” said Jeff Myhre, vice president operations, Globe University.

Both schools offer small class sizes, instructors with industry experience and a hands-on learning philosophy that provides students with real-world experiences while using the latest equipment.

“These programs are designed for students who are creative and fascinated by how things work,” said Keith Fossen, NTI president. Depending on the program, students learn to use computer aided drafting and design (CADD) software such as SolidWorks and Creo (Pro-Engineer) and AutoCAD; design for manufacturing and assembly; product data management; green design and LEED, and building information modeling.

As part of Globe and MSB, program graduates will also receive the university’s customary lifelong job-search assistance.

Globe is taking applications now for these exciting technical programs at its Woodbury, Minn. campus. Contact 877-303-6060 or visit Drafting and Design on Globe’s website.
