Giving the Unexpected, INC. Granted 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Status

Giving the Unexpected, INC. (GTU) has been granted 501(c)(3) status by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Already a not for profit organization based in South Florida, this step now makes us eligible to apply for grants, which will further broaden our access to resources and strengthen our ability to provide HOPE to residents in Dominican Republic. Even more, contributions donated to GTU are fully tax-deductible.

Obtaining 501(c)(3) status is a major milestone for GTU and opens many doors for us to expand fundraising activities and fully realize our goals as a charitable organization. Here is one of our campaigns in the pipeline:

    About Giving the Unexpected, INC. - The President's and Vice President's inspiration for the establishment of GTU was locating and reuniting with their biological family after being adopted 27 years ago. After their first trip in 27 years, in April 2012, they were able to see the conditions of their country of origin. This is when they realized that a lot is taken for granted here in the US, and that they would like to help, in any way possible, to improve the lives of people even if it is one person at a time. The mission of GTU is to provide unexpected opportunities of personal, individual, and family development to support the residents of the Dominican Republic.
