Girl leaves suicide note on cell phone

MANILA, Oct 24, 2008 (Asia Pulse Data Source via COMTEX) --
A 15-year-old girl wrote her last words of apology and adieu on her cell phone before allegedly committing suicide before dawn Friday in Makati City.

Makati chief of police Senior Supt. Gilbert Cruz identified the fatality as Angel Gale Labena, a junior at Bangkal High School, of 3624 Gen. Luna St., Bangkal, Makati. She was declared dead on arrival at Ospital ng Makati.

Using clothesline wire, Angel allegedly hanged herself on the rooftop of her home at around 1 a.m. Friday.

Gusto ko pong mag-sori dahil naging pasaway me sau nay, sori po talaga, Sana mapatawad ninyo ako, Salamat, were some of the words that Eluminada Labena read on her daughters cell phone message inbox after the grim discovery.

According to case prober PO3 Nilo Sadsad of the investigation section, Eluminada last saw Angel alive while talking to a younger sibling inside her room at 10 p.m. Thursday.

The mother, who retired to sleep, felt a kiss on her cheek as she lay in bed some three hours later. She then had a nervous chill as she checked up on Angel and saw her room empty.

Eluminada roused husband Renato Labena from bed and told him to look for the missing girl. To their horror, the parents learned shortly that Angel was not missing, but dangling above them.

Relatives quickly retrieved the girl and in a futile attempt to revive her took her to the hospital. It was too late.
