Giact Systems Expands Executive Team with Benjamin Guion and Holly Merrill

Giact Systems, LLC (Giact), a leading provider of risk management solutions for electronic payments, announced the expansion of its executive team with the additions of Benjamin Guion as Chief Financial Officer and Holly Merrill as Chief Communications & Advocacy Officer.

As Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Guion will help Giact expand its operating infrastructure to support the company's accelerated growth. As Chief Communications & Advocacy Officer, Ms. Merrill will serve as a valuable resource for clients, sharing best practices and critical information on the evolving issues for safely processing and accepting payments.

"Benjamin and Holly are proven executives with over 60 years of combined experience," said Melissa Brown, CEO of Giact. "Benjamin is uniquely qualified for this role given his extensive career as a financial professional with both tier-one accounting experience and operational insights into the banking and payments industry. Holly is taking on a special role for Giact using her risk and compliance expertise. We are pleased that our recent growth investment by Tritium Partners is allowing us to add experienced members to our team who can help us scale our business and better serve our clients."

Most recently, Mr. Guion served as COO and CFO of New Dominion Bank and CAO and CFO of a predecessor bank of SouthTrust, where he helped grow the North Carolina operations to over $2 billion in assets and 39 braches. He brings 25+ years of experience and has played major roles in raising capital, growing companies, and maximizing earnings. He has also helped design banking and payments systems, policies, and security procedures. He started his career at Peat Marwick & Mitchell (now KPMG) as a Senior Auditor in the financial services practice.

"I'm excited to join an executive team that is committed to constantly improving its operations," said Mr. Guion. "I am particularly impressed by the team's dedication to growing the company in a thoughtful and strategic way that will continue to position Giact as innovators in the electronic payments business."

Ms. Merrill, former CEO of PaymentsPLUS, specializing in payments processing and risk management tools, brings over 35 years of experience in payment processing and risk management. She held senior leadership positions at a Regional Payments Association that provided ACH services and education for over 23 years, including 12 years as CEO. She had responsibility over the Check Clearing House, a private sector ACH Operator (ACHA), a private sector point-of-sale system, and ACH Auditing Services, and managed a team of seasoned payments experts who educated and supported the bank and credit union membership. Previously, she was Director of Product Development as well as Director of Operations and Risk Management at BillingTree. Additionally, Ms. Merrill served as a Director on the national boards and Executive Committees of both NACHA and NOCH. She holds an AAP (Accredited ACH Professional) certification from NACHA.

"It is always a daunting task trying to stay out in front of the changing regulatory landscape and determining how best to prevent fraud in electronic payments," shared Ms. Merrill. "I'm looking forward to helping make this easier for Giact clients in my new role."
