Genesys Deploys Alfresco for Critical Content Management and Delivery

Alfresco Software, a leading provider of modern enterprise content management (ECM) and business process management (BPM) software, announced today that it has added Genesys to its growing employee, partner and customer base.

Genesys (News - Alert), the global multi-channel customer experience and contact center solution leader chose Alfresco to replace its previous content repository. Alfresco's ability to manage high volumes of content for a wide range of stakeholders, including Genesys' thousands of employees and customers worldwide, across multiple use cases was key to a successful implementation. The easy-to-deploy Alfresco platform also provided Genesys the flexibility to manage and deliver content both within the company firewall, as well as through the cloud.

With Alfresco, Genesys has been able to share information and documentation with its employees, partner and customers, more efficiently and at a much lower cost. Within the first year, Genesys customers have successfully downloaded more han 150,000 documents through the hybrid solution that has reached a rate of 3,500 to 4,000 documents per week.

"We needed a system with a workflow, co-authoring capabilities, collaborative capability, document storage and versioning," said Michael Katten, director of technical publications at Genesys. "Alfresco answers our content management needs and makes content delivery to our customers available in a unique and fantastic way. We have had a great response from our customers and Alfresco is the foundation for making all of this happen."

Today at Genesys, Alfresco serves as the primary technical content versioning and storage tool. All content is tagged and organized to improve searchability, as well as to ensure governance of critical data that is pushed to customers. The hybrid solution is a perfect fit for Genesys' technical needs: enabling vendors to access and download documents - and upload content - while maintaining version control. Documentation is created inside the firewall, uploaded into Alfresco and automatically synched to the cloud. Alfresco's open architecture also enables Genesys to develop a script that provides the ability for customers to access technical content directly and anonymously via the company's documentation website.

"Companies in high-compliance industries know that Alfresco is the best solution for their content management needs," said Chris Lynch, vice president of sales at Alfresco Software. "Genesys came to Alfreso looking for a hybrid approach, through a customizable and flexible enterprise content management system that is able to handle all of the complex needs of a worldwide organization. This deployment showcases how Alfresco easily delivers to the needs of its customers, validated by the ease at which Genesys and its customers are able to collaborate and share information."
