Gamercraft Adds Alienware Founder and AMD Chief Architect of Gaming Solutions to Board of Directors

Gamercraft announced today that it has appointed Nelson Gonzalez, founder and former CEO of Alienware, the leading gaming PC and hardware brand around the world, and Frank Azor, AMD (News - Alert) Chief Architect of Gaming Solutions, to its board of directors, effective immediately. Gamercraft is setting the new standard in competitive online gaming experiences for amateur gamers to compete in high-stakes and high-quality esports tournaments on a fair, structured, and skill-matching platform.

"Both Frank and Nelson are pioneers of the gaming industry. They give Gamercraft a strong vision of strategy, growth, and structure," said JJ Garcia-Rovira, CEO of Gamercraft. "We at Gamercraft have tremendous respect for Frank and Nelson. They help us navigate the day to day of start-up life, they care for the product and they care about what gamers want. Their guidance has been extremely valuable and will help us as we grow to ensure we stay true to our mission."

"Gamercraft is unique in that it makes it simple to form and find teams in an integrated tournament platform where amateur gamers can compete to earn prizes in their favorite esports team-based games, starting with League of Legends," said Azor. "The platform is frictionless, secure, and rewarding for gamers at all levels with real-time monitoring of each tournament to ensure fair play and integrity."

"Gamercraft has a unique opportunity to make a name for itself," said Gonzalez. "Being on the forefront of something exciting like this in this space is something that we experienced at Alienware. We are venturing into unchartd waters and have an opportunity to set the bar when it comes to offering a stable platform that offers anti-cheating/anti-smurfing, and gives the player/teams the confidence to know it's fair and that everyone is playing on a level playing field. The game developer can also feel confident that we are taking a serious approach to preventing cheating with our technology in that it will ultimately give the amateur player an optimal experience."

Frank Azor is an Alienware co-founder, who until July of 2019 was the Vice President and General Manager for the premium consumer brands and businesses of Dell (News - Alert) including the XPS, Alienware and G-Series portfolios. XPS represents Dell's most premium consumer focused brand, while Alienware is known worldwide for setting the standard for premium gaming PCs and innovation, and G-series products provide high-performance gaming systems at an affordable price. Under his leadership, Dell's XPS brand rose to the top in innovation, design and performance across the industry while becoming the most award-winning product-line in Dell history, and Dell's gaming business grew to be the largest in the industry by measure of revenue in 2018. In the summer of 2019, Azor joined AMD as Chief Architect of Gaming Solutions. At AMD, Azor is responsible for the design and definition of innovative platform technologies and solutions.

Nelson Gonzalez was previously the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for Alienware, a company he founded in 1996 with his long-time friend Alex Aguila. Gonzalez's idea was to design and produce the most advanced computer systems available. The venture began with a small investment and a home garage for an office. Within two short years, Alienware was recognized as a premier high-performance computer manufacturer. Gonzalez is credited as the creative force behind Alienware's success, providing expertise in advertising, e-commerce, and strategic product and marketing initiatives. His passion for innovation, bold business tactics, and commanding leadership earned the company a prominent position within the highly-competitive PC industry.

Azor and Gonzalez join Robert Wright on the Board of Directors. Robert Wright is an investment professional with 15+ years of experience across public and private markets. Wright graduated Harvard University in 2004 and has worked for investment firms including H.I.G. Capital, Fir Tree Partners and currently Greenlight Capital.
