Gala Honours Acheivements of Manitoba's Life Science Community

Four awards will be presented on February 18, recognizing the most-promising, outstanding, and noteworthy names of 2015 in life science at the Life Science Association of Manitoba's (LSAM) 2016 gala.

"There is a lot happening in the life science sector in Manitoba, and I'm excited to be celebrating the accomplishments of our local businesses and researchers as they take centre stage," said Tracey Maconachie, LSAM President. "These awards represent our industry's brightest stars - the work they do to reduce health costs, improve patient outcomes, enable advancements in food production, and cure diseases do not go unnoticed."

This year's winners are:

  • Conviron - Life Science Company of the Year
  • Arterial Assessments (Arterial Stiffness Inc.) - Life Science Early Stage Company of the Year
  • Orthopaedic Innovation Centre - Outstanding Leadership in Life Science
  • Laura Thompson - Most Promising Life Science Student

"We are grateful LSAM recognizes Conviron's role in driving Manitoba's life science sector," says John Proven, COO of Conviron. "As a global supplier of agricultural research equipment, Conviron strives to advance human health and protect the environment. Our technology advances our clients' work in plant science research. We are fortunate to work in Manitoba's supportive business network."

The 2016 Awards Gala, A Stellar Evening, will focus on industry stars in the life science sector - and the big, brilliant, powerful, and awe-inspiring moments they've created. This year, it will be held at the Winnipeg Art Gallery on Thursday February 18. Tickets can be purchased at www.lsam.ca/events.
