Gac Motor's Gs5 Impresses At Media Test Drive

(AllAfrica Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) CIG Motors, the authorized sole representative of GAC brand of vehicles in Nigeria, seems so confident about the vehicles it is introducing to the Nigerian auto industry. The auto distributor company put the cars, the GS5, on the road for a test drive by the auto media for them to have a feel of the new machines.

Without expressing any fear of the new cars getting spoilt, the auto distribution company put the cars for a one-day test-drive exercise from Lekki - Epe expressway, Lagos, to Akobo, Ibadan, Oyo State, passing through the dilapidated but under construction Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The cars, however, did not disappoint, confirming the confidence expressed by the distributor on the durability and the construction of the suspension to meet the Nigeria road terrain.

CIG Motors said the test drive was part of the brand's elaborate plans to launch itself fully into the Nigerian auto- market.

Addressing newsmen from major media houses in Nigeria at the IITA conference Centre in Ibadan, Sales and Marketing Director of CIG Motors, Mr. Kayode Adejumo, said the exercise was the first major attempt by his company to formally unveil the GAC brands to newsmen in grand style as a way of getting Nigerians and prospective customers gain insight into the unique selling points of the brand.

He stated that the launch of GAC brand of vehicles into the country was informed by the need to offer Nigerians the best from China with the highest Standard applied in vehicle manufacturing giving value for money with the most advanced technologies imputed.

"We are here to offer Nigerians the best from China with the highest Standard applied in vehicle manufacturing giving value for money with the most advanced technologies imputed," he said, explaining that the first set of models to be launched into the market which were used during the test drive exercise are GS5 2.0L engine, the mid luxury SUV, which is currently the flagship.

He said the vehicles are being produced in an advanced world-class factory where attention is given to every detail, explaining that there is automation in the whole assembly process, where security and accuracy are implemented; where precision cast with steel frame are carried out without the slightest error.

He said the manufacturer can also boast of top 10 international suppliers: Bosch, Continental, Magna, Visteon, TRW, Delphi, Johnson controls, Denso, and Aisin.

He said the vehicle is equipped with Front Double Fork Arm type and Rear Multi-link beam independent suspension, designed by Porsche.

The vehicle is equipped with some notable features including Passive Entry Passive Start (PEPS); Anti Brake System, Electric Brake force Distribution, Traction Control System, Hydraulic Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Program, Hill Hold Control, and 6 airbags (Dual front, Front side and Curtain airbags).

Other features include Climate control with dual-zone and rear air outlet, Cruise Control, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

Meanwhile, CIG Motors said it has concluded plans to showcase two of its latest models at this year's Abuja Motor fair for the Nigerian prospective car owners.

The two models currently making waves in Nigeria since arrival a few months ago are GS5 2.0L engine mid luxury SUV and the GA3 1.6L saloon.

Sales and Marketing Director of CIG, Mr. Kayode Adejumo said the high quality autobrand will leave no stone unturned in making Nigerians and attendees at the 16th edition of the Abuja Motor Fair have a new feel of the global automobile appeal and experience.

According to him, "GAC Motors will be participating at the fair to showcase two of our models, the GS5 2.0L engine vehicle, our mid luxury SUV which is currently the flagship in our range and the GA3, a 1.6L saloon which is our current entry level," adding that the car company is here in the country to offer Nigerians value for their money.
