Fujitsu launches cloud-based tachograph analysis system in Japan
(Telecomworldwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Fujitsu (NASDAQ: FJTSY), a provider of ICT-based business solutions, today announced the availability of a software as a service (SaaS) based solution for the trucking industry in Japan which will enable transportation companies to analyse the output from digital tachographs to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
The solution consists of a digital tachograph, developed by Transtron Inc, that has wireless communications capabilities and which transmits information such as vehicle speed, current time, position and engine speed to a central server. The tachographs also incorporate a GPS receiver. Customers can then use any PC to connect to the server to analyse driving performance and to provide their drivers with information which will enable them to improve the efficiency of their routes, their fuel efficiency and their driving standards. The system will also reduce the amount of paperwork for drivers by automatically generating daily trip logs.
The TRIAS/TR-SaaS solution will cost JPY3,200 per vehicle per month.
