Frontier announces USD49m investment in 2011 in network enhancements and capital investments in Oregon

Provider of communication services Frontier Communications (Nasdaq:FTR) on Wednesday announced that it has invested approximately USD49m in network enhancements and capital investments into its operations in Oregon in 2011.
These investments are in the service areas that the company acquired in July of 2010.
The company said that during the past 19 months, it has built out its telecommunications network to make Frontier broadband available to over 25,000 new homes and businesses, expanding availability in its service territory from 85% to 95%.
Also, Frontier is aggressively deploying Metro Ethernet service and Dedicated Internet Access capabilities to serve the growing bandwidth needs of its commercial customers. These services are delivered via Frontier's backbone network which connects all of the company's central switching offices.
