freenet Q3 profit increases


Nov 13, 2012 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- freenet AG, a provider of voice and data services for the mobile communication operators, has reported profit attributable to the shareholders of E48.94 million, or E0.38 per share, for the third quarter ended September 30, 2012, compared to E30.89 million, or E0.24 per share, for the same quarter ended September 30, 2011.



Revenue for the third quarter ended September 30, 2012 was E756.51 million, compared to E840.59 million for the same quarter ended September 30, 2011.

Profit attributable to the shareholders for the nine months ended September 30, 2012 was E131.11 million, or E1.02 per share, compared to E77.63 million, or E0.61 per share, for the same period ended September 30, 2011.


Revenue for the nine months period ended September 30, 2012 was E2.27 billion, compared to E2.4 billion for the same period ended September 30, 2011.

"In line with our strategic focus, I expect at least a stable customer base with a stable ARPU for the current fiscal year in the contract customer segment. Meanwhile, as of 30 September, we have already recorded growth by 118,000 customers to 2.66 million mobile telephony subscribers in the no-frills sector, and expect to see further growth," said Joachim Preisig, CFO of freenet AG.
