Former Cisco Executive Joins Gutenberg Communications To Drive Silicon Valley Growth

Gutenberg Communications, a leading strategic communications firm, today announced that Jeff Platón has joined the company as Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President, Marketing Services Practice. In this role, he will be focused on driving new and organic business growth. Platón will also provide senior marketing counsel to a broad portfolio of Gutenberg clients.

Gutenberg Communications has already built considerable business momentum in 2014 by adding more than 12 new clients across the mobile, cloud and cybersecurity technology sectors.

While previously at Cisco (News - Alert) for 12 years,Platón led the development of the global marketing and go-to-market strategy for Enterprise Solutions and IT Security Solutions. As VP and CMO for the Cisco security business, he developed "The Cisco Self Defending Network" (SDN) marketing campaign, which was instrumental in driving Cisco's security business from $240m to $2.3B and to the #1 market position in revenue and #1 preferred network security brand. The SDN marketing campaign remains Cisco's most successful, longest running marketing campaign in the company's history, winning the gold Effie award. Prior to Cisco, Jeff was a senior executive at McAfee (News - Alert), Exabyte and Burroughs (Unisys).
