Focus sets up Bacolod call center
(Business World (Philippines) Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) Bacolod City - Another American company will open a call center here.
James Martin, site director and project director of Focus Communications, Inc., informed Mayor Evelio R. Leonardia that they have hired 38 agents who are now undergoing training. They expect to hire a total of 200 agents when they start operations by the end of this month.
"We are expecting to be fully operational by the end of August. We have seen the capability of this city. Bacolod is a great place compared to Manila which is already saturated and besides, there are many graduates in the city who need jobs," Mr. Martin said.
They will hold office at the former AMA Computer School at 24th and Lacson Sts. in this city. He said Focus was founded by the Mormon Church. It started operations in 1994 with only five call center agents. Now, they have a total work force of 13,000 in their 10 centers in other countries, including the Philippines, with head office in Roy City, Utah, Mr. Martin said.
"We have good benefits awaiting our employees," he said, while assuring that there is no discrimination in terms of religion or academic attainment at Focus call centers.
