flexReceipts Wins Over $20,000 in Rollins MBA Venture Competition
ORLANDO, Fla. --(Business Wire)--
The Rollins MBA Center for Advanced Entrepreneurship announced today
that flexReceipts has been named the winner of this year's Rollins
Venture Plan Challenge. The company is awarded a $20,000 cash prize, as
well as additional services beneficial to growing the company. The
competition is coordinated annually by the student run Rollins
Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Organization (CEO). Participants compete for a
cash prize pool of over $30,000 to invest directly in the business.
Winners are chosen by a panel of distinguished judges, all of whom are
successful investors and entrepreneurs.
"Completing an MBA has given me the necessary skills and network to
build flexReceipts into a successful company," Sachin Jaitly, CEO,
flexReceipts and Rollins MBA alumnus. "This infusion of capital
and in-kind services will surely help us achieve the next stage in our
growth. The support from Rollins and its network has been tremendous."
In addition to flexReceipts, this year's Rollins MBA Venture Challenge
place winners included RNR Diagnostics, developer of a molecular
diagnostics test for early detection of skin cancer Melanoma - taking
second place and a $6,000 cash prize; Sun Voter, a service dedicated to
providing nonbiased candidate information for local, county and state
public offices - taking third place and a $3,000 cash prize; and
Biocurity, developers of RadGuard™ a nanoparticle radioprotectant that
mitigates damage from radiation exposure in cancer treatment nd
terrorist radiation threats - taking fourth place and a $2,000 cash
prize.
The Rollins MBA Venture Challenge, organized by the Rollins CEO chapter,
provides members of the Rollins family an opportunity to take an idea
for a new product or business and develop a plan to introduce it to the
marketplace. The competition is in its eighth year.
The Rollins student chapter of CEO operates on a global platform and
promotes its mission, "to inform, support and inspire college students
to be entrepreneurial and seek opportunity through enterprise creation."
CEO organizes a variety of programs and events designed to promote
successful entrepreneurship amongst students, engage them in
entrepreneurial activity, and connect them in a meaningful way with
advanced entrepreneurs. Flagship programs include the annual Venture
Plan Challenge and Elevator Pitch Competition, and the activities
centered around Global Entrepreneurship Week.
