Tea pots fetch far more.

(2) Poole GBP100-GBP500 Moulded and hand-painted in an Art Deco style, each piece was a one-off, with prices from GBP5 (GBP93 now). 1950s Poole is very collectable.

Try antiques fairs and auction houses.

(3) Russel Wright GBP50-GBP250 Wright's tableware was one of the bestselling services, and had a big influence on British design.

Look on eBay, but most items are in the U.S., where prices once started at GBP3 (GBP56 now) a set.

(4) Midwinter GBP40-GBP150+ This avant-garde range was illustrated by a young Terence Conran and architect Sir Hugh Casson.

A breakfast set sold for GBP2 (GBP37 now).

Find on eBay and at auction houses and dealers.

(5) Meakin GBP5-GBP80 Mass-produced tableware sold in High Street shops for about a shilling. Range was decorated with cheerful 1950s-style scenes. Car boot sales and eBay are the best places to look.
