Fey denies being mean to Sarah Palin on TV show

London, Dec 02, 2008 (Asia Pulse Data Source via COMTEX) --
Comedian Tina Fey, who mimicked Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live, has denied being mean in her impersonation.

'The 30 Rock' actress mimicked Palin in the run-up to the presidential elections last month and was blamed for the Republican party's slip in popularity.

Palin then appeared on the show and jokingly confronted Fey. The comedian, however, maintains that she was right to make fun of the Alaskan governor, Contactmusic reported.

"I never did feel that we were mean to her. We stuck to a lot of things that she herself had said, and I think there is a very strange double standard because it's a woman portraying another woman," Fey said in an interview.

The jokes we used to do about George W Bush were aggressive but no one would ever stop and say, "Oh, that seems kind of mean'," Fey complained.

It's funny because, as she points out, Tina Fey pretty much just repeated a lot of the gibberish the came out of Palin's mouth. Sarah Palin's the one who made herself look bad. Completely unqualified. http://tvontheweb.blogspot.com
