A few morsels from the food media world

(Chicago Tribune (KRT) Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) Everything seems to be about the Web this month. Whole Foods Market has introduced a video podcast, "Secret Ingredient," hosted by chef Scott Simons. It's available free at wholefoodsmarket.com/secretingredient, itunes.com and on youtube.com, with new episodes every Monday and previous episodes archived. The May 21 episode, featuring a sauteed pasta with asparagus, domestic prosciutto, cherry tomatoes and pecorino Romano, looked terrific for a weeknight dinner.

Elsewhere: If sardonic humor suits you, visit the bleakly hilarious suicidefood.blogspot.com, which chronicles the inexplicable use of animal imagery to advertise food: dancing pigs for barbecue joints and chickens dressed like cowboys for fried chicken stands. If sardonic humor doesn't suit you, steer clear ...

On the tube: Bravo's "Top Chef 3 Miami" has partnered with Telemundo to offer a multimedia bilingual platform for the show. One of the challenges was filmed at the mansion in Telemundo's "Dame Chocolate" telenovela, and Telemundo's daily morning show "Cada Dia" will feature a weekly cooking segment from the show with season two's Carlos Fernandez. There will be English and Spanish "webisodes" on BravoTV.com and YahooTelemnundo.com, and Fernandez will blog at both Web sites. Chicago culinary photographer Stephen Hamilton's exquisite food photos grace the show's set, and Dale Levitski, once of Trio Atelier and La Tache, is the sole Chicago contestant. We're rooting for you, Dale.
