FarStone's VirtualDrive Network 11.6, a CD/DVD Emulation Tower, Shares CD/DVDs and Archives Data over a Network

IRVINE, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Businesses often rely on crucial software to perform day-to-day operations. But what happens when this CD is damaged, lost, or destroyed? In response to the growing amount of concerns over software maintenance and safekeeping, FarStone releases VirtualDrive Network 11.6, a CD/DVD backup and emulation solution that allows multiple users on a network to access an entire library of CD/DVDs - all without the need for physical discs.

VirtualDrive Network creates, archives, monitors, and controls the use of virtual CDs from a designated central server with quick and easy access. Users can create Virtual CDs - just click and rip. Unlike physical CD/DVD drives limited to one or two CD/DVDs at a time, VirtualDrive allows 23 virtual CDs to run simultaneously. VirtualDrive Network enables users to convert hundreds or even thousands of physical CD/DVDs into a Virtual Tower, as well as simultaneous accessibility from multiple network workstations.

Not only is VirtualDrive more convenient than physical discs, but virtual discs run more efficiently as well. Virtual CDs run directly from the hard drive at up to 200X faster than a physical disc. Likewise, there is no spin-up delay running a virtual CD.

VirtualDrive Network also allows administrators to limit the number of concurrent users using a particular CD, fully honoring software licensing.

"We designed VirtualDrive Network with the interests of businesses, schools, and government agencies in mind," says Thomas Lin, CEO. "As a result, we combined a server media library with virtual CD archiving, concurrent licensing limiting, multiple disc support, and network access."

VirtualDrive Network is $399.99 for 5-user license ; $1,499.00 for 25-user license http://www.farstone.com/software/virtualdrive-network.htm
