ETI Software Solutions Integrates IPTV Middleware for DeKalb Telephone

(Market Wire Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) ATLANTA, GEORGIA, October 23 / MARKET WIRE/ --

DeKalb Telephone Cooperative, Inc. d/b/a DTC Communications (www.dtccom.net), of Alexandria, Tennessee, has deployed Enhanced Telecommunications (d/b/a) ETI Software Solutions, Inc., (ETI) (www.etisoftware.com) Triad(TM) platform to provision Internet Protocol-based video services (IPTV). ETI is the industry leading provider of automated, flow-through service activation software for voice, video, data, FTTH and softswitch technologies.

In Tennessee, DTC serves over 20,000 access lines in the areas of Alexandria, Auburntown, Brush Creek, Gordonsville, Liberty, Milton, Norene, Smithville, Temperance Hall, Woodbury, Woodland, Rutherford County and Wilson County with a variety of services including high-speed Internet, paging, cellular, local, long distance and now Internet Protocol-based Television services.

ETI's Triad has fully integrated DTC's IPTV middleware solution to their telecommunications billing system. This integration provides automated service activation of IPTV channels and packages via its middleware. DTC's Triad(TM) platform will also aggregate all Pay-Per-View (PPV) and Video-On-Demand (VOD) purchases, and then introduce them to DTC's telecommunications billing system for subscriber statement preparation. Therefore, DTC subscribers will receive one unified bill including all nonrecurring (PPV and VOD) video services.

DTC deployed ETI's Triad as part of an overall strategy to best position the company to automate service activation of a whole host of technologies whereby increasing operational efficiencies, eliminating service activation errors and significantly reducing turn-up time to activate customer services.

"ETI's experience and reputation made its Triad solution the obvious choice to connect our billing system to our middleware," says Les Greer, CEO, DTC Communications. "In addition to supporting our IP-based television offerings in the short term, from a strategic point of view, Triad future proofs us to automate provisioning of DSL and FTTH technologies as our network and services mature."

Triad provides out-of-the-box functionality to automate the complex provisioning processes for more than 30 telecommunications service delivery technologies. Customers of ETI are empowered to select from an array of "plug-and-play" interfaces which control FTTP, RF video, IPTV middleware, cable modem, DSL and softswitch technologies. ETI's product eliminates multiple data entry points as well as the service errors and delays associated with manual "swivel chair" processes to activate services for voice, video and data services regardless of the technology or delivery network.

"Since its inception, like all conditional or digitally controlled video platforms, IPTV middleware's missing piece is total integration to host billing systems," says Peter M. Pifer, President and CEO, ETI Software Solutions. "The middleware solution that DTC selected and the interface that our engineers developed to command it, adds another to our suite of IPTV and RF digital video interfaces, which in-turn future-proofs our entire customer base as their video technologies evolve."
