ERICSSON TO EXPAND ITS BUSINESS IN KAZAKHSTAN

ASTANA, Nov 13, 2008 (AsiaPulse via COMTEX) --
Ericsson Company will expand its
business in Kazakhstan.
In 2008, the company's sales grew 50 per cent in comparison
to the same period during the previous year. The opening of a
new office for the expansion of company staff is good evidence
of the company's long-run intentions to develop Ericsson in
Kazakhstan, reported web-site RosInvest.com.
"For the last several years we have observed the Kazakh
telecommunications market's development. We are sure that this
positive trend will be maintained. We are ready to support the
telecommunications industry's development in the country in
accordance with international standards," said the Chief of the
Ericsson representative office in Kazakhstan, Soren Ahlstedt.
The company provides telephone equipment for all cell phones
operators, including Kcell, Neo, Beeline, and Dalacom. Almost
60 per cent of all calls placed throughout Kazakhstan were made
using Ericsson equipment.
"3G equipment provided by Ericsson allows companies to
provide broadband mobile Internet access to their companies,

allowing for mobile television, interactive video, and other
things," reported the Ericsson Kazakhstan Company PR service.
Ericsson is a world-leading provider of telecommunications
equipment and related services to mobile and fixed network
operators globally. Over 1,000 networks in more than 175
countries utilize their network equipment and 40 per cent of
all mobile calls are made through their systems
The company's origins date back to the late Lars Magnus
Ericsson in 1876. Almost 130 people work in the Ericsson
Kazakhstan company, according to September statistics. Soren
Ahlstedt began leading Ericsson Kazakhstan in January 2008. He
has considerable international experience with Ericsson top
management.
