Equinix selected by Unitas Global to expand in Asia Pacific

Apr 06, 2012 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- Equinix Inc (Nasdaq:EQIX), a provider of global data centre services, announced on Thursday that Unitas Global, a managed infrastructure service provider, has selected Platform Equinix in Singapore and Sydney, Australia to support its global business expansion plans.

The deployment, financial details of which were not available, will allow Unitas Global securely reach cloud service providers and enterprise customers operating in Equinix data centres across the Asia-Pacific region.

Unitas Global, which designs and operates IT Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) for over 100 customers, is present in Equinix's International Business Exchange (IBX) data centres in Singapore (SG2) and Sydney (SY3). In the future it also plans to expand into other key Equinix data centre locations in Asia-Pacific to accommodate rapid growth in the region.


With Platform Equinix, Unitas Global has access to a secure, power-dense, high-availability and high-connectivity data centre environment that connects an ecosystem of stakeholders, network and cloud computing service providers in the region, Equinix said.

Equinix has 11 data centres across five key markets in Asia-Pacific, in Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Sydney and Shanghai.
