Enterprise Florida Wins IEDC Silver Award for Marketing Campaign

The Perfect Climate for Business." (http://www.enterpriseflorida.com/perfectbusinessclimate/) The campaign won in the category, Best Paid Ad Campaign for communities with populations greater than 500,000. Judges based their decisions on the creativity and effectiveness of the campaign as well as its contribution to the economic development profession.



Secretary of Commerce and President & CEO of Enterprise Florida, Gray Swoope said, "This award is appreciated and important recognition for the work we're doing to promote Florida as the best state for business. Our marketing team and the Team Florida Marketing Partnership have done a tremendous job telling the state's business story, and it's exciting to see the impact the campaign is having on industry professionals and business executives across the country." IEDC's Excellence in Economic Development Awards recognizes the world's best economic development programs and partnerships, marketing materials, and the year's most influential leaders. There are 34 awards that honor organizations and individuals for their efforts in creating positive change in urban, suburban and rural communities.

The campaign was launched by the Team Florida Marketing Partnership to build awareness and actively promote Florida's business advantages among key audiences, both domestically and internationally.


"For Florida to take its position as a business super-state and compete on a global basis for game-changing competitive economic development projects, we must have the ability to tell our story," said Melissa Medley, Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President of EFI. "This award is a great honor for our Team Florida partners as they have done a fantastic job of marketing the state to site consultants and key decision-makers outside of Florida through the campaign. The Team Florida Marketing Partnership is a coalition of the state's economic development, utility and business leaders who support efforts to promote Florida as a business super-state. The objectives of the Partnership are to provide a framework for working together, to help raise funds to support an ongoing campaign, and to ensure there is continuity in business messaging and promotional efforts over time.

Campaign highlights and results include: * More than 57 million impressions through digital, print, TV and other forms of advertising * The digital campaign appears on numerous business websites, including CNBC, Fox News, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg Businessweek, and The Economist * Print ads featuring the campaign appeared in Chief Executive Magazine, Delta Air Lines' Sky magazine, Businessweek and on cover wraps of multiple issues of FORTUNE magazine and in multiple industry publications * Television commercials featuring Florida CEO's have aired on Bloomberg, CNBC, BBC World News, Fox Business, Golf Channel, and NBC networks in targeted, out-of-state locations * Since the launch of the digital campaign in December 2013 to April 2014, the initiative generated more than 93,000 clicks * The campaign won a 2013 Best in Class communication award from the Southern Economic Development Council (SEDC) * The campaign won two Silver ADDY awards for the print advertisement and integrated campaign from the American Advertising Federation Jacksonville Chapter President and CEO of Tampa Bay Partnership and Chair of the Team Florida Marketing Partnership, Stuart Rogel said, "Florida's Perfect Climate for Business Campaign is exactly what the state has needed to help showcase it as the number one location for business.
