Energy Fellows Institute Invites Executives and Entrepreneurs to Apply for the 2014 Program

DENVER --(Business Wire)--

The Energy Fellows Institute is now accepting applications from executives and entrepreneurs interested in joining the 2014 program. The Energy Fellows Institute offers experienced entrepreneurs and executives an opportunity to accelerate their transition into the cleantech and advanced energy sectors, stimulating new venture formation, scalable businesses and growth of the industry.

2014 sessions will run from June 1 - July 31 and from September 1 - October 31. The Institute provides interactions with the local and national advanced energy network (people, products and policy); exposure to investors active in the sector; opportunities to review commercially viable technologies; and a chance to learn about the latest energy innovations gaining market adoption. Guest speakers provide real-world perspectives and the opportunity to discuss business models, market adoption, and changing energy policy.

"The Energy Fellows Institute offers a tremendous opportunity for seasoned executives to translate their business experience into new opportunities within the energy industry," said Jeff Lints, managing director of the Energy Fellows Institute. "Now in our third year we're excited to watch the successes of our previous Fellows and we're looking forward to another outstanding program in 2014."

Anchored by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and in partnership with the state's premier research institutions and expansive energy industry, Colorado is a leader in energy generation, advanced buildings technologies, energy storage, energy efficiency, advanced transportation, water and natural gas research and development. These energy areas will be featured in the Institute's 2014 curriculum in conjunction with an overview of energy policy, market adoption, international opportunities and business formation. Per session, Fellows will receive more than 75 hours of training from more than 60 speakers, including company and laboratory tours and input from the state's leading research institutions. Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis until May 16 for Session 1 and until August 15 for Session 2.

"The Energy Fellows Institute is unlike any other executive education program in the industry," said Chris Shapard, executive director of the Colorado Cleantech Industries Association. "As one of the Institute's founding partners, I could not be more pleased with the Institute's activities to date and I look forward to welcoming an outstanding new class of Fellows to the 2014 sessions."
