Employee Self-Service Reaches All-Time High

SAN ANTONIO, Sept. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Eighty-eight percent of employees have direct access to their pay and benefits information online, according to the 2016 "Getting Paid In America" survey recently conducted by the American Payroll Association (APA).  The results reflect a six percent increase in employee self-service portals since 2015.

"Providing employees with more self-sufficient online and mobile access to their payroll, human resources, benefits and time entry resources empowers them to directly access needed information," said Shelly Ng, vice president of product management at Ceridian.

The annual APA survey asked "Does your employer provide an employee self-service portal, whee you can access your pay and benefits information online?" Nearly 88 percent of respondents indicated their employer provides access to online employee self-service portals. The number of participants with access rose sharply from the 2015 results, which indicated only 82 percent of employees had access to such portals.

The "Getting Paid In America" survey was held in conjunction with National Payroll Week (NPW), APA's annual public awareness campaign. Over 27,000 individuals responded to the survey, providing insight into how workers are paid in America. For complete results, visit www.nationalpayrollweek.com.

The APA is the nation's leader in payroll education, publications, and training. Visit APA online at www.americanpayroll.org.
