Empirix Founds New Industry Initiative to Promote Network Testing Collaboration and Interoperability Standards

‘Network Test Automation Forum’ will Develop Testing Framework to Increase Productivity and Streamline Product Development Lifecycles Bedford, MA – March 17, 2010 – Empirix (News - Alert)® Inc., the market leader of service quality assurance solutions for new IP communications, today announced that it became a founding board member of the Network Test Automation Forum (NTAF), www.ntaforum.org, a consortium of network equipment manufacturers (NEMs), service providers, and test solution providers. The newly formed NTAF will promote interoperability among test tools and simplify lab automation efforts, ultimately reducing the time, complexity and cost of product test cycles.

Empirix joins other industry leaders and test solution providers to shape the direction of the network test industry through NTAF standards. In addition to collaborating with one another, the forum encourages members to work closely with customer organizations to define an open and advanced automation framework.

NTAF is the only industry forum to develop test automation standards in a collaborative, open and transparent manner. The framework will support multi-vendor architectures, including voice, video and data technologies. Through this framework, test engineers and lab managers will be able to more easily develop and deploy next generation network products and services.

“Our goal is to provide complete transparency in the Forum’s activities and ensure a level playing field for all members,” said Keith Kidd, president of NTAF. “By encouraging industry-wide participation, NTAF is working toward establishing interoperable testing solutions for service providers, network equipment manufacturers and other enterprise organizations with large network deployments.” Empirix’s offerings will adhere to the guidelines outlined in the NTAF framework. Empirix’s flexible, automated solutions can be utilized across a wide spectrum of customers, test environments and architectures including IMS, VoIP and Unified Communications (News - Alert).

“By following the NTAF framework, we can further help our customers ensure the quality of their products and a consistent end user experience,” said Gordon Eddy (News - Alert), director of product management, Empirix. “The NTAF standards are designed to create a customer-centric and device-agnostic framework that will help us meet the automation needs of our customers and the industry as a whole. We are proud to help lead the way in this exciting and groundbreaking effort.” About Network Test Automation Forum (NTAF) The Network Test Automation Forum brings together users, vendors, and other telecommunications and data communications industry experts for the purpose of creating interoperable testing solutions for service providers, network equipment manufacturers, and other enterprise organizations with large network deployments.
