Emefiele Sacks Mint Boss, Appoints Ugbo New MD

(AllAfrica Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) IN what appears to be a response to President Goodluck Jonathan's directive to the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Mr. Godwin Emefiele on the restructure of the Nigerian Printing and Minting company Plc., the apex bank governor yesterday carried out a restructure action at the Mint leading to the sack of the Acting Managing Director of the Company, Mr. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli and two Executive Directors.

The sack takes effect on Monday, September 1st 2014 when a new Managing Director, Mr. Joseph Ugbo and two new Executive Directors will resume duties.

Mint's Company Secretary, Lawal Adamu, revealed the CBN Governor's directive in a statement yesterday evening in Abuja.

Earlier in the morning President Jonathan revealed that he had directed the CBN Governor to undertake a restructuring of the Mint to bring the institution to full capacity production in line with what obtains in other climes.
