eMediaWorld.com: Photovoltaic Solar Cells Inc Files For a Patent On Its Dye Doped Graphite/Graphene Solar Cell

(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge)
RDATE:15072008

FORT PIERCE, Fla.--(eMediaWorld)--Photovoltaic Solar Cells Inc (Pink
Sheets: PVSO, Frankfurt Stock Exchange: 3PH) announced today that it
has filed for a patent on its "Dye Doped Graphite Graphene Solar Cell
on Aluminum foil" on July 16, 2008. This unique device does not require
a liquid electrolyte. All liquid electrolytes are inherently unreliable
at high and low temperatures. Iodine is one of the chief elements
within a liquid electrolyte. Iodine is a very aggressive halogen and
oxidizes any metal other than the Nobel Metals used in dye doped solar
cell making them more expensive.

It is the dyes used in the companies cell that mostly determine its
quantitative efficiency. Some dyes used in the companies solar cells
can approach those dye doped solar cells that do have a liquid
electrolyte in efficiency. The company estimates that it can produce
these cells for under forty cents ($.40 cents) per watt. The current
lowest price for solar cells is around $1.80. The company is in the
process of funding its roll to roll production unit. Once that funding
is done then it will take 6 months from that date to finish its
production unit. The unit is forty per cent finished now.

In addition to the above the company has filed for a patent on a way to
separate carbon dioxide into its resultant parts of carbon and oxygen

using radio frequency. The company calls this its "trap and zap"
method. The resultant carbon captured can be upgraded and refined into
Graphene sheets, C 60 and carbon nano tubes. These highly valuable
products could then be used in solar cells making this process into the
ultimate recycling effort. Please visit the companies web site for more
information and read its US SEC filings.
