Elwyn Chooses Carousel Industries for Extensive Communications Deployment
EXETER, R.I., July 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Carousel Industries, a national technology integrator, announced today that it had entered into an agreement with Elwyn, a non-profit human services organization located in Elwyn, PA, to completely update their Voice, Data and Network Services as well as modernize their physical infrastructure to meet power and cooling requirements. The new system will be designed, installed, serviced and maintained by Carousel. This project represents a multi-million dollar investment in improvements for Elwyn and its branch locations. The project will integrate Elwyn's communications environment to increase interoperability, features, applications, scalability, and reliability for all users. These enhancements will allow teachers and case workers to spend more time with the mentally challenged adults and children they support.

Carousel Industries is a leading telecommunications integrator and one of the largest Value-Added Resellers in the country. The new telecommunications system being provided by Carousel is designed around a platform from Avaya, the leading provider of IP Telephony products and software. The hub is located at a downtown co-location facility for robustness and disaster recovery purposes. Elwyn's main campus and 19 other branch locations will be tied together with Avaya S8300 media servers and 1000 IP, digital and analog handsets. The main campus will also have an Avaya S8500 media server for secondary call control. The entire network will be connected via a meshed AT&T MPLS network for data and internal calls across the network, with local PRI's for least cost routing.
Carousel was chosen primarily for its proven ability to provide a full service, turn-key solution of this size and scope. The largest beneficiary will be the mentally challenged children and adults that Elwyn serves. The Avaya Solution provided by Carousel will:
