(Record-Eagle, The (Traverse City, MI) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) July 30--TRAVERSE CITY -- An Elmwood Township man remains behind bars on accusations he sent child pornography over a computer file-sharing network.

Michael Edward Burr Jr., 22, appeared Wednesday in 86th District Court for arraignment on four counts of possessing or distributing child sexually abusive material and one count of using a computer to commit a crime.

Attorneys from the Elhart & Horvath law firm in Traverse City are representing Burr. Defense attorney Mattias Johnson appeared with Burr for the arraignment in a Grand Traverse County courtroom.

"The ball is just getting rolling on this," he said. "We believe in our client's innocence and are willing to fight on his behalf." Leelanau County sheriff's deputies and FBI agents arrested Burr on Tuesday after an investigation that began in May. He's accused of sending five child pornography videos over a "peer-to-peer" file-sharing program to FBI agents.

Authorities on Tuesday searched Burr's Elmwood Township residence and seized computers, computer components and cell phones.

Eighty-sixth District Court Judge Thomas Phillips set a $150,000 cash or surety bond for Burr during the arraignment. Burr is being held in Leelanau County's jail. A preliminary examination is scheduled for Aug. 8 in Leelanau County.
