Eliza Corporation Joins S.C. Campaign to Drive Awareness and Behavior around Colorectal Cancer Screening
BEVERLY, Mass. & COLUMBIA, S.C. --(Business Wire)--
Studies show that only half to two-thirds of South Carolinians aged 50
and older get preventive colon cancer screenings. To help change this
reality, Eliza Corporation -- the pioneer and recognized leader
in Health Engagement Management solutions -- is engaging BlueCross
BlueShield of South Carolina members in conversation about colorectal
cancer with the goal of increasing screening rates for this prevalent
but preventable disease.
Eliza will bring new dimension to the "Love Your Colon" campaign, a
three-year old collaboration between BlueCross, the South Carolina
Gastroenterology Association, the University of South Carolina's Center
for Colon Cancer Research, CVS Caremark and Genentech.
As part of this campaign, Eliza will reach out to members of select
large companies in South Carolina who signed cards at worksite events on
which they pledged to get screened or to talk to family, friends and
coworkers about getting screened. Eliza's interactive, automated calls
will introduce the topic, engage these members in conversation, assess
and address any concerns they may have, and encourage them to schedule a
screening. Eliza's follow-up analysis will help determine which messages
resonate best for key populations - valuable insights for increasing
overall awareness.
"In South Carolina, only half to two-thirds of the eligible population
get preventive screenings for colon cancer. The 'Love Your Colon'
campaign aims to increase that rate, and we believe that Eliza's unique
approach to engaging people in conversations about their health will
help us do that by breaking through the noise, giving people a chance to
learn mre about the recommended tests, and helping us better understand
what drives - or discourages - our members from having their recommended
colon cancer screenings," says Laura Long, MD, Chief Medical Officer at
BlueCross.
"We are honored to bring our services and expertise to support the 'Love
Your Colon' campaign," says Alexandra Drane, co-founder and Chief
Visionary Officer of Eliza Corporation. "Eliza's data asset, 11 years
deep and richly populated, will allow us to tailor messaging with proven
approaches and content in ways that inspire behaviors, leading to better
outcomes- and ultimately better lives - for BlueCross BlueShield of
South Carolina members."
