Ecrio and Aplix partner to develop Java applications for mobile deployment

(Corporate IT Update Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Mobile software company Ecrio and Aplix, a specialist in the deployment of Java applications in mobile phones and other consumer devices, today announced an agreement which will see Aplix using Ecrio's IP communications technologies.

The companies said that Aplix will make the Ecrio IP communications capabilities available to Java developers through the Aplix JBlend Java platform, offering new MIDP 3.0 capabilities, such as idle screen midlets, inter-midlet communication and concurrency, while taking advantage of Ecrio's SIP/IMS framework and 'application empowerment' enhancements.

No further details of the partnership were made available.
