BB&T promoted Darlene T. Dunn to senior vice president. Dunn, based at 496 High St., is regional business banking manager for the West Virginia north region. She joined the bank in 1980 and has devoted more than 25 years of service to BB&T.



A native of Uniontown, Pa., Dunn is a graduate of WVU, where she earned a bachelor's degree in journalism. She also is a graduate of the RMA and Commercial RMA School of Banking.

Dunn is president of Main Street Morgantown.


84 Lumber Co. hires manager trainee

84 Lumber Co., the nation's largest privately held buildingmaterials supplier to professional contractors, hired Tony Huggins as a manager trainee at the 84 Lumber store in Buckhannon.

Huggins, a native of New Martinsville, graduated from Magnolia High School in 1994 and also graduated from Salem-Teikyo University in 1998 and earned his MBA from WVU in 2003. Huggins lives in Clarksburg.

As a manager trainee, Huggins is responsible for sales, estimating and material takeoffs, performing in-store merchandising and maintaining store and yard appearance.

Lunsford joins

Steptoe & Johnson

David Lunsford has joined the Business Department of Steptoe & Johnson PLLC practicing in the firm's Huntington office as a member. Lunsford will focus his practice in the areas of estate and trusts, and business and commercial and real estate.

He received his legal education from the WVU College of Law and a bachelor's degree in finance, also from WVU.

Lunsford has been an officer of a major West Virginia bank and then continued his career as a partner of the law firm of Huddleston, Bolen, Beatty, Porter & Copen. He has had his own law firm for the past nine years before joining Steptoe & Johnson.

He is involved in a number of local and regional civic and charitable organizations.

United Bank elects man to board of directors

Richard M. Adams, Chairman and CEO of United Bankshares Inc., announced the election of Thomas T. Mendenhall to the board of directors of United Bank.

Mendenhall serves on the United Bank North Advisory Board. He previously served on the National Product Advisory Council and National Dealer Advisory Council for Mack Trucks, as well as on the board of directors for the Wheeling Country Club, Wheeling YMCA and the Vestry of Lawrencefield Parish.

Mendenhall owns and operates the W.VA-Ohio Motor Sales Inc. of Wheeling and the Clarksburg Mack Sales and Service Inc., franchised dealerships for Mack Truck Inc. and Mitsubishi Fuso Trucks of America.

Moffa named sales, marketing director

Fairmont Home Medical Equipment and Supplies has named Dana A. Moffa as its new sales and marketing director.

Moffa, a veteran in the health-care industry, will provide customer service to entities in Marion, Harrison, Wetzel, Taylor and Monongalia counties.

Moffa comes from Laboratory Corporation of America, where he most recently served as a regional managed care account executive.

His primary responsibilities included developing new business and serving as a liaison with larger managed care organizations in West Virginia, Michigan and western Pennsylvania.

Moffa began his duties with Fairmont Home Equipment & Supply on Jan. 23.

SBA launches program for women

The U.S. Small Business Administration announced the launch of MY BIZ for Women, a new online tool designed to provide comprehensive business information and assistance to female entrepreneurs.

MY BIZ for Women is designed to be the first step for all female business owners, providing one-stop access to information for female entrepreneurs highlighting the best resources the government has to offer.

The Web portal provides information about starting and growing a small business, gaining access to capital and contracting opportunities and links to other government agencies and SBA resource partners offering business counseling, a state-by-state listing of SBA's Women's Business Centers and other resource information.

Morris gains realtor graduate designation

J.S. Walker Associates Inc., Realtors announce that Robin Morris, ABR, GRI has received the Graduate, Realtors Institute designation from the West Virginia Association of Realtors.

Morris achieved the designation by attending four separate modules of real-estate education through the Parkersburg Campus of WVU.

According to the National Association of Realtors, only 19 percent of all Realtors hold the GRI designation.

Morris also is an accredited buyer representative designee as well as being a candidate for the Certified Residential Salesperson (CRS) designation.

Morris possesses an MBA degree from Rivier College in Nashua, N.H.
