DJ RusAl Appoints Steven Hodgson Head Of Australia Office

(Comtex Finance Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)MOSCOW, Mar 27, 2006 (Dow Jones Commodities News via Comtex) --Russian Aluminium (RAL.YY), the world's third largest aluminum producer, has appointed Steven Hodgson, currently managing director of the company's alumina division, head of its representative office in Australia, according to RusAl's press office.



RusAl also said Pavel Ovchinnikov, currently head of the Achinsk Alumina Complex, would succeed Hodgson in the role of managing director, alumina division, effective April 3.

In his new role, Hodgson will lead RusAl's participation in the potential expansion of the Queensland Alumina refinery, where the company holds a 20% stake, and development of new projects in energy and aluminum. He will continue as a director of Queensland Alumina Ltd., coordinate with the other QAL partners and represent RusAl on the Australian Aluminum Council and with Australian State and Federal governments.



Ovchinnikov, who succeeds Hodgson as managing director of the alumina division and has been with RusAl since 2001, becomes responsible for securing the efficient operation of RusAl's Russian and international bauxite and alumina assets.

This involves implementing modernization and expansion programs, improving productivity, and enhancing technological processes.
