DJ Indonesia To Ask OPEC In Next Mtg To Roll Over Production
(Comtex Business Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)JAKARTA, Feb 27, 2006 (Dow Jones Commodities News via Comtex) --Indonesia will ask the Organization of Petroleum Countries during the group's next meeting to roll over current production until global oil prices drop below $50 a barrel, the country's OPEC Governor Maizar Rahman said Monday.
"We (Indonesia) want $50 a barrel as the highest price," Rahman told Dow Jones Newswires.
OPEC is scheduled to meet in Vienna March 8.
At its last meeting Jan. 31, the producer group's 10 members, excluding Iraq, decided to keep pumping at a 25-year high near 28 million b/d to allay market concerns about supplies amid $60-plus prices and supply disruptions in Nigeria and Iraq.
Rahman said Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro will leave for the meeting March 6.
Indonesia is Southeast Asia's sole OPEC member.
