DJ India Nov Gold Output Estimated At 232.57 Kg;Below Target
(Comtex Business Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)NEW DELHI, Dec 30, 2005 (Dow Jones Commodities News via Comtex) --India's gold production in November is estimated at 232.57 kilograms, lower than the targeted 258.694 kg, an official statement from the Ministry of Mines and Minerals said Friday.
The ministry didn't give the corresponding figure for November 2004 or provide reasons as to why output fell below the set target.
In November, the Hutti Gold Mines, or HGML, produced 204.94 kg of gold, accounting for the majority of India's gold production.
The country's gold production in the April to November period is estimated at 2048.69 kg, compared with a targeted 2140.75 kg.
HGML produced 1962.53 kg gold in the April-November period.
