DJ Australia Auto Sales -11.7% In Jan Vs Dec; Survey

(Comtex Finance Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)SYDNEY, Feb 02, 2006 (Dow Jones Commodities News Select via Comtex) --New auto sales in Australia fell 11.7% to 70,003 vehicles in January from December, industry data published Friday by the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries show.


Auto sales grew 0.4% compared with the same month in 2005, the chamber's VFacts report says.

Passenger motor vehicle sales in January fell 8.7% from December.


Toyota (TM) was the top ranking in January beating General Motors' (GM) Holden unit and Ford (F) based on monthly sales.
